Firefighter Louis Tambini and 1st Lieutenant KC Kaese were part of the Yulan Fire Department contingent that brought Santa and Mrs. Claus to the Barryville Holiday Community Event at Catskill Mountains Resort.
BARRYVILLE — Saturday's snowstorm created a beautiful background for the Barryville Holiday Community Event at Catskill Mountains Resort.
Santa and Mrs. Claus rode in on a fire truck and were escorted by firefighter Louis Tambini, 1st Lieutenant KC Kaese and Lieutenant Ryan Jones of the Yulan Fire Department.
Santa and the Mrs. visited with children of all ages, finding out their holiday wishes, posing for photos, and giving out cookies and holiday cheer.
Children enjoyed crafting activities like building and painting birdhouses, and painting record bowls (made from upcycled records) with Kelly Ryan of Sunshine Studios, while everyone enjoyed holiday music.

A variety of vendors offered specialty wares and information. The Can't Hurt Steel Community Foundation had a variety of swag for sale, as well as information on their farm share programs and other healthy initiatives. Loretta Wolff, an Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay and photographer pulled double duty, offering products for sale and taking photos of children with Santa. Attendees could learn about essential oils, purchase custom holiday arrangements from Marchesin Florals, or sample a delectable Zia Rosa cupcake in holiday flavors like egg nog or peppermint. Lorraine Truncellito helped to sell Ryan's Sunshine SeedRZ - discs of non-GMO seeds individually crafted by adults with disabilities - to help Monarchs butterflies, bees and other pollinators.
Rounding out the afternoon was Chef Todd Anderson creating delicious pizzas for everyone to enjoy as they visited with friends and neighbors.
The Holiday Community Event was one of many hosted by the team at Catskill Mountains Resort aimed at bringing a fun festive activity to local residents and visitors.
