Slate Hill residents Bonnie Gaspar, Larry Florkiewicz and Buster, an 18-month Beagle/Basset Hound mix, (or a Bagel, as his owners call him), got some rest while waiting for the parade to begin.
On Saturday October 8, there was a buzz in the air at the Second Annual Narrowsburg Bee Fest. People gathered from near and far in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for number of people dressed as honeybees.
The day was filled with fun for everyone and included lectures, demonstrations, food and drink.
At day's end all “beed up people and pets joined together to be counted in an attempt to break the current record set for most people dressed as honeybees, and while the numbers came up short (at 1500!), there's always next year, when organizers are determined to try again.
