A funky new tradition

On June 29, the Funky Hippy Chic Boutique, which is located near Resorts World Catskills and the Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark, hosted their first Artisan Walk. Artists who showcased their work included Teri Paris of Faces by Paris, Deborah Frey of Double “D” Farms, Judy Rose and Lily Ayala of Magical Creations, Tracie Hickman of Trixiee Mixed Media Mosaic, and Monticello High School senior Olivia Brewer who sold original paintings.
“It has been a labor of love for me for nine years,” Funky Hippy Chic Boutique Owner Patti Greco Sunshine said. She has toured the world as an entertainer and now sells clothing, home decor, and body products that are inspired by places internationally and locally. Sunshine makes the clothing herself with material from different countries, and she also sells products made by local artist Joshua's Trees, which is exclusively sold at the boutique. “We're kindred spirits, and I just felt like if we work together we'll do great things,” Sunshine added.

Music was also a treat at the artisan walk as musician David Samuel Bloch and Sunshine played songs together on the porch of the boutique, which entertained guests as they browsed the shop and artist vendors.
The artisan walk will continue and the next event is July 27, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at 679 Resorts World Dr. in Monticello.
