A happy hive in Narrowsburg

By Joseph Abraham - sports & life editor

Two-year-old Ruby Gannon donned her own bee outfit.
Like a bee's pheromones, excitement swarmed the hamlet of Narrowsburg for their Fifth Annual Honeybee Festival on Saturday.
The event, which promotes awareness, demonstration and education about the declining honey bee population, had street vendors, demos and educational workshops.
Attendees were able to see enjoy the beautiful bee mural by artist Matthew Willey that recently came to life on side of the Narrowsburg Post Office. Willey is committed to hand-painting 50,000 honeybees across the nation to raise awareness. For more info about his project, visit www.thegoodofthehive.
com.
Near the end of the day's activities a bee mural dedication was held, and Tusten Councilwoman Brandi Merolla presented Willey with a key to Narrowsburg to express the hamlet's appreciation of his art.
