Local Litter Pluck on Nov. 29

SULLIVAN COUNTY - The Upper Delaware Recreation Project is organizing a local litter pluck on Friday, November 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is part of a national “Opt to Act” Day by REI.
The focus for this event is on cleaning up litter along drainage ditches, major tributaries, and the rivers themselves, where it is safe and accessible to do so.
This litter would be the first to wind up in our rivers after a heavy rain or snow melt.
That being said, pick what you can, where you can. Every bit counts, and most roadside litter will work its way to our rivers and oceans at some point.
The location of the local troop for the pickup is TBD, but most likely in the Callicoon, Narrowsburg, or Honesdale area.
Do you know of a stretch of road along your commute that is full of litter? Contact Upper Delaware Recreation Project on Facebook or call 570-468-3904.
