Rowdy Reindeer: In week 3, Simons' team “Rowdy Reindeer” had earned a win with this smiley, skiing elf that was carrying an impressive 212 pounds of presents on his back.
LIBERTY — If you tuned into Food Network's Cake Wars 2016 Christmas: Animals Celebrate Christmas Too on Monday evening you may have seen a familiar smiling face on your television screen.
Cake artist Kim M. Simons of Liberty has been competing on the show with fellow cake artists and team members Lindsey Bickford and Dean Murray on team “Rowdy Reindeer” for the final grand prize of $50,000.
In the first round of Cake Wars Monday evening, the remaining four teams returned to battle yet again, this time creating an image of a disguised Santa Claus when he goes undercover.
In the second round the teams had to use their imagination to create an edible winter wonderland where the animals of the forest celebrate Christmas.
At the end of the show two teams came out on top with incredible creations that impressed the judges: teams North Star and Rowdy Reindeer.

“North Star” ended up taking the win in this episode but Simons and her teammates are still holding strong in the competition.
The next episode with the three remaining teams, “Santa's Workshop,” will air on Monday, December 12 at 9:00 p.m. so don't forget to tune in.
And another very special treat, Simons will be at Dickens on the Delaware this weekend building a cake for everyone to see, so put on your hat and winter jacket and mosey on down to Callicoon for a day full of activities.
