Food Bank to host special distribution for federal employees

HUDSON - In response to the federal government shutdown, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley will host a special distribution for out-of-work federal employees on Thursday, January 24 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Food Bank, 195 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
The distribution is open to all furloughed federal employees (or those who are working and not being paid) and their families who live anywhere in the six-county region the Food Bank serves: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

Participants will be asked to show their federal ID (or a photo of a federal ID if the employee is unable to attend in person). No appointment is necessary.
The Food Bank will provide a three-day supply of non-perishable food items. Participants can also choose from a selection of produce, dairy, meat and other perishable items. Some personal care items and pet food may also be available, based on current inventory.
For more details, please call the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley at (845) 534-5344.
