LIVINGSTON MANOR — On Saturday December 5, the Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce and the Catskill Art Society (CAS) hosted the 8th annual, “Holiday Trains on Main.” As visitors traveled up and down the streets of Livingston Manor, they revisited times of the past.
There were eleven stops on this trip through time, including: “Reading is Fun” at the Livingston Manor Free Library, “The Pastry Express” at Brandenburg Bakery, and “The Sugar Blossom Special” at Willow and Brown.
The Laundry King featured NYO&W Layouts and Historical Exhibits, as well as speakers throughout the day.
“The Christmas in Livingston Manor,” setup at CAS is a delightful trip through the eyes of the young at heart.
This whole day is thanks to the imagination of Charlie Irace of Livingston Manor.
He has been putting together train scenes since he was a young boy. His great-great grandfather worked for Thomas Edison and had a love of all things electric, which has been passed through time to Irace. “The oldest train set is from 1918 and can be seen at the CAS,” he explains.
This walk through history can be seen from now until December 27.
Livingston Manor businesses are giving away an armload of gifts during the “11th Annual Boxcar of Goodies.” Each purchase at a local business enters you to win, with the drawing to be held on December 23.
