LOCH SHELDRAKE — SUNY Sullivan's board majority revisited the college's proposed $19 million 2015-16 budget Wednesday, ultimately approving it 8-1.
Board members Russ Heyman, Phyllis Coombe, Larysa Dyrszka, Lyman Holmes, Susan Jaffe, Patricia Adams, Terry Hamlin and Thomas Scian gave their assent, while Steven Drobysh voted against it, and Paul Guenther was absent.
Drobysh was the only “no” from the prior vote (held on April 16) to remain so, as Holmes, Jaffe and Scian switched to “yes” after being presented with more thorough information this week.
The budget comes with a $100-per-semester tuition hike and a $300,000 increase in the county's annual $4 million contribution. Legislators were slated to hear a presentation from SUNY Sullivan officials yesterday as they contemplate whether to follow through with that increase.
