Monticello chimney fire

SULLIVAN COUNTY — Monticello Firefighters responded at 14:30 hours (2:30 PM) to a report of a residential home fire at 144 Waverly Avenue in the Town of Thompson. Upon arrival Engine 22-14 found a chimney fire in a single family residential mobile home with fire in the ceiling. The fire was reported by the residents of the home.

Monticello immediately transmitted a second alarm and requested an Engine from Rock Hill to assist at the scene. Forestburgh Firefighters were called to standby in Monticello's Station.

Mobilemedic EMS, New York State Police and Monticello Police assisted at the scene. New York State Electric and Gas was called to the scene for a power cut. The family was assisted by the Sullivan County Chapter of American Red Cross. No injuries were reported and all units were back in service at 16:50 (4:50 PM).
