NARROWSBURG — Last Thursday night, members of the Upper Delaware Council (UDC) gathered for their monthly meeting in Narrowsburg during which a swearing-in ceremony was held for three of their members: Fred Peckham (Town of Hancock), Jeffrey R. Dexter (Damascus Township, PA), and Alan F. Henry (Berlin Township, PA.)

Town of Hancock Supervisor Samuel N. Rowe, Jr. was present and officiated the swearing-in of Peckham as 2016 UDC Chairperson, Dexter as Vice-Chairperson, and Henry as Secretary-Treasurer.

Once the council members were sworn in, the UDC continued with their approval of the January 7 meeting minutes, committee reports and status reports.

It was announced towards the end of the meeting that Travis G. O'Dell, is resigning from his Resource Specialist position in the UDC to pursue other opportunities and to spend more time with family. Therefore, as of Friday the Upper Delaware Council announced the opening for the position. An email was sent out to spread the word and to describe the position as, “A Resource Planner to review zoning ordinances, land and water use projects, and developmental proposals to determine conformance with the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Management Plan in NY and PA. This is a full-time position with generous benefits at non-profit Upper Delaware Council. Technical planning experience, strong written communication and public outreach skills, and knowledge of natural resources sought. You can see the full description at www.upperdelawarecouncil.org.”

After the adjournment of the meeting, a reception with cake and coffee took place to celebrate the UDC members who had been sworn-in, and to wish O'Dell well in his future endeavors.
