Burglar caught in Thompson

Thompson - On March 8 at approximately 8:40 PM, the Sheriff's Patrol responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress at 225 Fraser Road in the Town of Thompson. The caller stated that a male subject threw a brick through a window at that location and attempted to gain entry. A witness followed the subject to Anawana Lake Road where Deputy Ryan Fridlich caught up with them and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Binyomin E. Salvay of Maple Avenue in Woodridge. Salvay was charged with the Felonies of attempted Burglary and Criminal Mischief. He was arraigned before Town of Thompson Judge Sharon Jankiewicz and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2500 bail, pending a future court date.
