JEFFERSONVILLE — A woman with dementia was reported missing from the Jeffersonville Adult Home early Tuesday morning and was later located deceased. New York State Police say Marlene Pesekow, 74, left the adult home at approximately 5 a.m. on foot and was found late Tuesday evening.

She was located by law enforcement near the facility. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

According to State Police, there appears to be no foul play in her death and the investigation is ongoing. It was initially reported that she may have been attempting to travel to the New York City area.

State Police search parties were combing through the area on Tuesday, stopping motorists on route 52 and asking if anyone had seen her.

The Jeffersonville Adult Home is located at 4806 State Route 52 in Jeffersonville.

Police have not released further information.
