Conservative Party dinner hosts guests from across party lines

The Sullivan County Conservative Party held its annual dinner in the clubhouse at Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center on February 13.

The evening included many local notables from Republican and Democratic circles and featured State Senate Candidate Mike Martucci as the guest speaker.

Those in attendance included County Court Judge Jim Farrell, Acting District Attorney Meagan Galligan, Sheriff Mike Schiff, Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, Retired Court Judge and Candidate for District Attorney Frank LaBuda, County Court Judge Candidate Danielle Jose-Decker, Sullivan County Democratic Chairman Steve Vegliante, Sullivan County Republican Committee Chair Gary Maas, Legislature Chairman Rob Doherty, Legislators Nicholas Salamone, Alan Sorensen, George Conklin and more.

There may have been a diversity of political perspectives breaking bread together, but the Conservative Party is keeping its eyes on 2020.

“This past November, our candidates rocked the polls and we're hoping to do the same thing this coming November,” said Sullivan County Conservative Party Chairman Edward Magilton.

Chairman Magilton thanked those in attendance for braving the weather to come out that evening. He took time to recognize the executive Board Members, including First Vice Chair Bill Chellis, Treasurer Al Frangipane and Secretary Glynn Magilton.

“This is one hard working executive board, and they know how to get the job done,” Chairman Magilton said.

Edward thanked Glynn for her efforts in organizing the evening.

“She's my wife, my best friend and my rock. For me and our family, she works tirelessly and never wants recognition, but I just want to present her with these this evening,” he said before revealing a bouquet of flowers.
