MAMAKATING — Emergency personnel responded to the scene of an overturned bus in the Town of Mamakating just outside Wurtsboro on Friday afternoon.
According to the New York State Police (NYSP), the bus flipped over on its side while driving through a sharp curve on Mamakating Road near the intersection with VFW Road.
Hatzolah Ambulance and MobileMedic EMS were at the scene along with the NYSP.
According to State Police Public Information Officer Steve Nevel, there were some 20 adult passengers on the bus and several were treated for minor injuries.
Emergency responders shut down Mamakating Road at Exit 114 for a short time. Roads were reopened by 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
