LIBERTY — On Saturday, November 15, troopers from the Liberty State Police barracks were called to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris to investigate an assault on hospital staff.

The investigation determined that Cassandra Torres (35) of Monticello attacked and bit a nurse in the emergency room while she was being treated. The nurse sustained a bite wound to her hand and was treated at the hospital.

Torres was charged with assault in the third degree and arraigned in the Town of Thompson Court and released on her own recognizance to reappear at a later date.
