Yet another Dollar General store is being proposed in Sullivan County, this time in Livingston Manor. The former Vitale Lumber Mill (seen here from County Route 149 - Shandelee Road - near the Manor Ambulance Corps) is being eyed by Dollar General developers. They've formally approached the Rockland Planning Board this month, which told them to either scale back dimensions to meet setback requirements or to seek a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals. A similar store proposal is wending its way through the planning process in Eldred, and a Dollar General just opened in Jeffersonville, joining existing stores in Liberty, White Lake, Fallsburg and Wurtsboro.
