New Hope brings joy to families

Children lined up for their turn to sit on Santa's lap and receive a toy provided by the Fallsburg Police Benevolent Association (PBA) at the “Celebrating Our Community” holiday outreach event at New Hope Community in Loch Sheldrake on Tuesday. The event was held for children and families by the staff at New Hope Community in conjunction with the PBA. They handed out hot meals to go, which included chili, rice, mac and cheese, bread rolls, fruit and snacks prepared by the on-site kitchen, Community Bistro. The food items and utensils were donated by Freskeeto, Zakarin's, Ideal Snacks and Giulio Bread & Cake Inc. They also handed out 300 ShopRite gift cards in the amount of $25 each. This was the first year that New Hope held this community event. New Hope CEO Debbie McGinness said they want to be more involved in the community and let people know they are there. “This is our way of saying we care about you,” she said.
