ROSCOE -- A Single Bite Golf Event Benefits Sullivan County nonprofit’s mission to feed and educate children and their families with real, local food.
The Annual A Single Bite Golf Tournament raised more than $40,000 at their September 12 event!
Founded by Foster Supply Hospitality, the nonprofit distributes healthy food to area food pantries and county schools, continues to provide free, nutritious meals to local families and supports community health by teaching students to care about the food they eat and where it comes from.
The winning foursome announced by Roscoe Mountain Club, head golf professional, Bobby Menges with a score of 58 was Ira Steingart, Nathan Steingart, Mark Garro and Praveen Singh. Other prizes were awarded to the team of Phil Beliawsky, Kelly Hamlin, Joe Poppo and Paul Zanini with a round of 64.
The Volunteer Committee of Greg Goldstein, Gary Siegel and Travis O’Dell organized the annual event that was generously supported by Meadow Solar and Delaware River Solar, NYSEG, Advance Testing, Delaware Engineering, Misner Insurance & Leatherstocking Insurance, and the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association. Other key supporters included Elsie and Howard Kopcha, and Sullivan County Fire Protection, Blustein, Shapiro, Frank & Barone, LLP, Land & Water Realty and Rolling V Transportation along with Jeff Bank, Don Simkin, the Rotary Club of Liberty New York and the Monticello Rotary Club rounded out the many generous businesses and organizations that also included more than twenty-four Hole Sponsors.
Congratulations also went to Longest Drive for the Men Nathan Steingart, the Longest Drive for the Women – Erin Fahey, Closest to the Pin for the Men – Bill Reiber and Closest to the Pin for the Women – Mary Beth Bianconi. Straightest Drive for Men, Andy Sturm, The Putting Content winner was Curt Schultzberg and an exciting Poker Hole Game winner was Joe Poppo.
A Single Bite executive director Audrey Garro said, “Our committee, a sold out field of 84 golfers and our tremendous sponsors helped to raise crucial funds that enable our nonprofit to support the nutritional needs of our community by increasing the amount and quality of fresh produce provided to local families, school children, food pantries, and working families in Sullivan County.”
