Alex Lander, the son of Rick and Lisa Lander of Narrowsburg, was accepted to the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Alex recently received his “white coat” at the Bloch Alumni and Advancement Center Auditorium in Rochester. The White Coat Ceremony is an academic ritual in medical school that signals the transformation of an ordinary student to that of one studying to become a physician (M.D.). Alex is joining his three siblings, Heather Lander, who is a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, Sarah Lander, who is an orthopedic surgeon, and Richard Lander, who is a 4th year medical student, in the medical field. Congratulating Alex at the ceremony were, from the left: Richard Lander, Sarah Lander, Rick Lander, Lisa Lander, Alex Lander, and Heather Lander.
