Audrey Elizabeth (Ingram) Yusavitz passed away peacefully October 9, 2020, in her sleep at home at the age of 91 years old. The daughter of the late Olive Violet Ada Knight and Herbert Joseph Edward Ingram, she was born March 15, 1929 in Nottingham, England.

Audrey grew up during WWII and was evacuated to an orphanage in Cardiff, Wales for several years during the war. At 18 years old, Audrey enlisted in the British Royal Air Force (W.A.A.F.) and served as a radio telephone operator for two years. Upon honorable discharge, Audrey and her best friends traveled throughout Europe, enjoying the beaches of France. In 1957, Audrey crossed the Atlantic on the Queen Mary and moved to Liberty, NY where she worked at Grossinger's Hotel and met her husband of 60 years, Joseph Yusavitz. Audrey and Joe have been lifelong Liberty residents when they were not wintering in Naples, Florida.

Audrey's English accent and her tradition of afternoon tea were examples of her British roots; Audrey became a naturalized citizen of the United States on June 5th, 1964 and considered herself a proud American for 56 years. Audrey's life was largely social and she rarely missed a party, she had so many longtime friends from playing tennis, bocce, cards, Mahjong, and enjoying Vanderbilt beach sunsets.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Yusavitz of 60 years, at home; her sister, Daphne Zavalski Barrie of Ontario, Canada; one daughter, Liza Glick of Park City, UT; two sons, Kurt Yusavitz of High Falls, NY and Karl Yusavitz (Hetty) of Grasonville, MD; and three grandchildren, Skylar Glick, Camryn Glick and Kevin Yusavitz.

The Yusavitz family would like to express their gratitude for the longtime love and care received from Audrey's neighbors and friends and the staff at Liberty Medical Group.

Due to the current health crisis, funeral services will be private.

Memorial contributions in Audrey's name may be made to a charity of your choice or please plant petunias next spring, they were her favorite.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. www.Harris-FH.com 845-292-0001 or 845-439-5200.
