Barbara E. Goetschius of Roscoe, NY, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Delhi Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Delhi, NY. She was 88.

The daughter of the late John and Barbara Johnston Adams, she was born June 11, 1933 in New York City, NY.

Betty was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and acting as treasurer for several years. She was a longtime supporter of the Roscoe Free Library, serving on the Library Board for several years and working part time as a clerk after her retirement.

Ever curious and happy to learn new things, Betty made many beautiful hand quilted and tied quilts for four generations of her extended family and others to treasure.

Survivors include her children, Jayne (Dale) Putman, Bobbie Goetschius, and Alan (Sue) Goetschius; her granddaughters Jennifer and Emily Putman and Madeline Goetschius; her brothers John (Patricia) Adams and James (Julia Johnston) Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend of 60 plus years, Nancy Nissen. She was predeceased by her husband, John M. Goetschius, and her sister, Mabel Burnham.

The family has chosen to remember Betty’s life privately at this time.
