Bears are rolling!

GRAHAMSVILLE – The Bears are stringing some wins together, including their tournament sweep on Saturday and a big win over Roscoe on Monday. Coach Kevin Crudele said, “We have been focusing on contact and quality at-bats. Baseball in the northeast can be difficult when you have four games in a week and your field practice time is very limited.” Spring break was a good chance for the Bears to get some practice reps on a field and it has been working out for them so far. They ran into a bit of trouble against Bill Steele and the Spartans on Wednesday, but they won five in a row before that matchup and will have Sullivan West next week.

High School (cont.)

Sullivan West defeated Fallsburg 9-1, bringing the Bulldogs back to .500 overall. The 5-5 (0-1) Bulldogs are looking to stay hot as more division games are right around the corner.

Tri-Valley earned their fifth straight win after starting the season 2-3. The Bears defeated the Blue Devils 19-2 in a non-league road matchup. The Bears followed up their big win against Roscoe with a division loss to Seward, losing 7-3 and their record dipped to 7-4 (0-2).

Softball

Fallsburg played a non-league match against Chapel Field and lost 18-3. Kaitlyn Cross led the offense for Fallsburg, going 2-3 at the plate with a double and scoring once in the loss.

Track and Field

The Monticello boys defeated Goshen 90.5 to 50.5, while the Girls team lost 98 to 43 against Goshen in a division clash on Wednesday.

Tri-Valley defeated Livingston Manor 275 to 359 in an outing earlier in the week.

The Monticello boys team defeated Sullivan West 231 to 296. Monticello is 3-2 (1-0) while Sullivan West is now 2-3 (2-2).

The Sullivan West girls team hosted Port Jervis and the combined Liberty/Fallsburg/Tri-Valley squad. Sullivan West swept their opponents, with a winning score of 160. Port Jervis finished in third at 182 and L/F/TV scored a 171. Gabby Cohen shot a match-best 40 on the par 35 course.
