Kudos to Judy, her family and staff for a great run at the Fat Lady Cafe. We’ll be missing the sentry and chaotic personality for quite some time. Congrats to Susan Harte for the progress building White Lake Woods. It’s taking shape! End of an era: the Red Barn was demolished last week. Nice to meet Joe Frieda, member of Beechwoods Yacht Club and outstanding, local author.

Start your Saturday with Leanna’s Yoga in the KL Park at 8:30 a.m. and follow with the Kauneonga Lake Farmers Market from 10-1 p.m. Attend the ‘Flashburn X Outdoor Art & Music Festival’ in Ferndale on the 28th from 12noon to midnight. Music, food and drink available on site. FMI: www.zacmax.com. “Old Dominion” hits the stage at Bethel Woods on the 28th at 7:30 p.m. NCA Summer Academy hosts a Family Concert at HPAC in Hurleyville on the 28th at 4:30 p.m. and then, at 9:30 p.m., NCA hosts ‘The Big Galut(e)’ Concert at the Monticello HS Auditorium. Also, the series continues on the 29th at 3 p.m. as the SCCO performs chamber music written during Holocaust by Jewish composers at HPAC.

BW Harvest Festival begins this Sunday, the 29th. Hours are 11-4 p.m. The Festival runs for six weeks and is free, but there’s a $5 parking fee. Enjoy weekly music, the food truck court, a corn maze and a variety of crafts. Regional vendors include local farmers, artisans, homemade food, spirits and specialty items and they all depend on your support. For 23 years this has been a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Go!

The NY State Fair in Syracuse runs until September 6th.
