I’m mentioning Rose and John Bogaert’s 55th Wedding Anniversary twice! Happy anniversary to the Weiss’s, the Suarez’s, and Ina and Allan Wakstein. Steve and I celebrate 42 years of wedded bliss on Thanksgiving day.

We extend condolences to Marcia, the family and friends of Eugene Raponi and to the family of the lovely Molly Turner. Our sympathy is also extended to the families of Eunice Stanton, James Farquhar, Herman Lamoreox, Terry Dubas and Lisa Ann Leonardo who passed recently.

The obituary of Malcolm Brown is on the WJFF Radio Catskill site. He was a ‘Renaissance man’ and among many interests and accomplishments, was co-founder of WJFF, uniquely powered by the hydro facility he and his wife, Anne, developed.

Congrats to Evan Waterton who made it to the NY Federation Championships after placing in the Section 9 Championships and the Class B NYS Cross Country Championships. Moreen Lerner earns a nod from the SC Business Women’s group. Good news: Garnet Health Medical Center received a donation of $85,000 from this year’s WSUL Heart-A-Thon! $790,000 from the federal infrastructure package is slated for the SC International Airport.

Celebrate a wonderful Thanksgiving Day on the 25th. Town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Catch Johnny Jules Band at Hector’s Inn on the 27th at 7 and Mickey Barnett on the 28th at 2pm. Jeffersonville’s Jeff Bank hosts a ‘Meet Santa’ event on the 27th from 12:30-3:30 with photo op and activities.

Join the community on Sunday, the 28th, at the ‘Menorah Lighting’ for the first night of Chanukah. The celebration at Veteran’s Park-Kauneonga Lake Town Square at 5:30pm includes music and treats. Hanukkah is celebrated until Dec 6th. Also, the 28th marks the beginning of Advent and is observed until December 24th.

Bethel Woods presents ‘Peace, Love & Lights’ through January 2nd (Sun-Thur 5-9 and Fri, Sat 5-10pm). Mondays are reserved for Sullivan 180 Walk-through only from 5-9pm. FYI: The Holiday Market will be open 2-9pm on the 27-28th, 12/4-5, 11-12, and 18-19. Dinner with Santa can be had on December 3-4, 9-10, and 16-17. Find event tickets, times and locations on their website. The Museum is open everyday until Jan 2. Docent Tours are only available Fri-Sun thru Nov 28.
