Ida Herzog passed recently and our sympathy is extended to the family. We convey condolences to the dear family and friends of Christopher Sorensen and to the family and friends of Bob Holland.

Dick Coombe has stepped down as Republican Party Chair and should be congratulated for his 52 years of public service. Mentioned as always the gentleman, he was recognized for his leadership and fairness. Best wishes to Peter Briggs, retiring after 16 years as Thompson Councilman. Congratulations to Judge LaBuda, recently honored for more than two decades on the bench and for lifelong service in Sullivan County.

Be a good neighbor: Donate outerwear, clothing, personal items and food to the MV Methodist Church, Shepherd's Pantry-WL Presbyterian Church or SCFH, the local organizations that serve our communities. Recently, Monticello Elks Lodge generously donated ‘Coats for Kids' to area schools.

Culture: If you are interested in sponsoring the ‘2020 Bethel Lakeside Music Series' in Kauneonga Lake Community Park this summer, please contact me.

Callicoon Theater screens “Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker” on the 9-13th and Hurleyville Arts Centre offers the same on the 10-12th. Crawford Library hosts a Saturday Family Movie at 1p.m.

Bethel Park & Rec hosts ‘Walk the Halls' every other Tuesday night starting on the 7th at Duggan Community Center at 6:30pm.

The Bethel Business Association ‘Board' will meet at the Duggan Blue Room on the 8th at 5p.m. The BLDC has a meeting in the Meeting Room at 6pm followed by the Town Board Meeting at 7pm. The Sullivan Renaissance Winter Symposium kicks off on Wednesday at CVI at 5:30-8:30p.m. It's your chance to get familiar with the 2020 grant and project contest information.

Starting the 9th, BP&Rec hosts ‘Dance It Off Exercise Class' at Duggan every Thursday from 6-7pm.

The Chamber of Commerce hosts the First Friday Networking Breakfast of 2020 at the Liberty Diner on the 10th at 7:30a.m. Villa Roma hosts the NYSTEA Student Conference, open to 10-12 grade students from the 10th to the 12th. FMI use www.nystea.org. Cabernet Franks hosts ‘The Far Trio' on Friday night.

'Far Beyond Gone' performs at Roscoe Beer Co on the 11th at 2p.m. Celebrate Callicoon's ‘Rafter's Tavern turning One' on Saturday at 7pm. 'ROXON' performs at Cab Franks on Saturday at 8pm.

Forestburgh Playhouse hosts auditions for the 2020 season (children, singers/dancers, and adult characters) at SUNY Sullivan Seelig Theater on Sunday, Jan 12th, at 10-3pm. FMI: www.fbplayhouse.org/local-actors.
