The Town Board meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesday(IP-Z), Planning Board (IP) the 1st Monday and Zoning (IP) on the 3rd Monday. Attend these meetings, all open at Duggan at 7:30pm, to learn about current issues and voice your opinion.

Prevent wildfires! The NYS Burn Ban is in effect until May 14th. Check DEC.NY.gov for more info and allowances.

Consider volunteering for WL, KL, or the SMV Fire Departments or the Bethel Ambulance Corp. Also, there is a great need for blood donations, so check local Red Cross schedules.

Narcan is available, free, and you can attend a SC Health Dept course to learn how to use it properly.

Business Watch: Patronize BBA member and area businesses. Join the Bethel Business Association (like the fb page). Use www.bethelnybba.com as a services resource. Set up your Business Advertisement in the ‘23 BBA Guide (845-887-5200). Local businesses, Friends, Big Kev’s BBQ, Town Camp and Sullivan 180 are hiring. Bethel Woods asks for volunteers. The local Past Perfect Bookstore would like volunteers to expand their schedule upon opening (845-794-0017).   

Get in Shape: Walk the Smallwood Forest Reserve trail or at the Dog Park. Try Tuesday afternoon pickleball at Duggan (generally, 4pm). Exercise at Duggan on Thursdays at 4:45pm. We can’t wait until the Town Pool and Park or NYS Lake Superior Park open for the season. Explore Delaware Highlands Conservancy-Van Scott Nature Reserve acreage and trails.

Be active with Ora’s Yoga in Bethel (oraramat@gmail.com), Miriam’s Yoga in Jeff (miriamhernandezart@mac.com), Jen’s Drop by the Kauneonga Lake Farmers & Makers Market at Duggan School on the 29th at 11am. This monthly event features farmers, assorted craft vendors and activities. Attend “Spring Fling” on Saturday at the Wurtsboro Veteran’s Memorial Park from 12-3pm. Reserve for DHC’s ‘Foods of Delaware Highlands’ Fundraiser Dinner with a live and silent auction at the Inn at Woodloch on the 29th from 5:30-9pm. The Bethel Council of the Arts Exhibition at Narrowsburg Union opens May 6th.

DVAA’s Spring Exhibition, with artists Joni Wehrli and Desmond Beach, runs until May 7th. DVAA is hiring a Development Associate, calling for artist sculptures for the ‘Zoe Comes Home’ production backdrop to be dropped off Thur -Sun and also signing vendors for Riverfest by the 30th. The performance is scheduled for May 5th and 6th.
