Bi-partisan support criticized by Trump

To the editor:

Before the Infrastructure Bill was passed by a bi-partisan Senate, Donald Trump was quoted, “It is a gift to the Democratic Party” and “supporting the bill be used against Republican lawmakers in the upcoming election.”

Trump is not saying what the country wants and needs, but what is good for the party. This surely looks like Trump’s biggest interest is a continuing power grab for power for himself, at all costs.

Democracy and the U.S. Constitution are being looked at by Trump and his cult following as nuisances in this grab. It seems like what has worked for our country for 250 years should be ignored and even attacked (as it was January 6th).

Have you looked at the Bill to see? Electricity makes carbon and Billions will be put toward it to reduce that carbon by 2035 - what if they miss the deadline as usual? Freight trains use fossil fuels to get across the country, 66 Billion to make them use what? 65 Billion for highspeed broadband, why? Communications companies already supply the equipment for this and then charge to consumer more monthly, so what is this money really for? Is it to buy computers for everyone that doesn't have one or for each member of the family? In NY they are getting high-speed which the cost is going to consumers, do you really need high speed or just be connected? Upgrade the power grid with NEW lines and etc so they can handle the new energy, will this get to every small town in Americas or just he big ones? Then we have Pelosi who wants more $$$ but is getting backlash from democrats not republicans over the whole thing? This much money and you don't think there's any going to where it shouldn't? Whose going to watch the money?............... What has worked for the country for 250 years is what is causing his huge amount of money needed now, that noone saw all this needed for the past 3 decades shows the poor planning the gov't does just like all the things that were supposed to be by law now and haven't. BTW - Afghanistan is an insurgency by terrorists, Jan 6th far from it.
