Big Eddy Film Festival celebrates local artists

The Big Eddy Film Festival celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a perfect fall weekend showcasing new independent films as well as local home-grown short films. Started back in 2012, The Big Eddy Film Festival brought the art of cinematic storytelling to our own backyard here in Sullivan County.

This year’s festival also featured celebrated writers who spoke about the many ways film and cinema shaped their identity and careers during Film & Me. A filmmakers round table panel discussion focused on the many ways in which the pandemic affected their production of short films and commercials during the past two years.

During a time when their jobs were at a standstill, many found new ways to inspire creativity and bring other artists together. Many of the filmmakers felt that COVID changed their individual styles and workflow during the beginning days of the pandemic in different and subconcious ways.

The Big Eddy Film Festival paired up with Bethel Woods again this year to provide a truly unique screening environment with films being shown in the Event Gallery and outside in the Terrace stage.
