Broadacre/Livingston Farms scoping session set for Tuesday

Posted

LIVINGSTON MANOR –– The Broadacre/Livingston Farms project, currently before the Town of Rockland Planning Board, is located on a 117-acre former dairy farm on 26 Hoag Road in Livingston Manor.

The project is currently proposing a 15-lot subdivision, as well as the construction of nine residential homes with an agritourism operation including a regenerative farm, 42-unit campground and hotel with a restaurant and guest house.

A scoping session on the project will be held by the Rockland Planning Board this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Livingston Manor Firehouse. A Zoom link can be found on the Town’s website for those that wish to attend Tuesday’s scoping session virtually.

On November 2, the Rockland Planning Board, acting as SEQRA Lead agency, issued a Positive Declaration finding that the project may have potentially significant adverse environmental impacts and that a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) must be prepared.

The purpose of the scoping session is to consider public and agency comment on the Draft Scope for the environmental review of the proposed project and to discuss the environmental impacts evaluated in the DEIS.

According to a posting on the Town’s website, a final scope as approved by the Planning Board will become the outline of the DEIS. If the Planning Board accepts a complete DEIS, a formal public hearing would be held at a later date.

Copies of the Draft Scope and concept plan for the project may be inspected at the Rockland Town Hall (95 Main St., Livingston Manor) during normal business hours and on the Town website, www.townofrocklandny.com, under the heading “Planning Board.”

Written comments on the Draft Scope will be received by the Planning Board until noon on March 6, 2023 and may be submitted via mail, email or by hand delivery to Planning Board Secretary Kaitlen Madison. It can be mailed to P.O Box 964, Livingston Manor, NY, 12758, delivered to Town Hall, or emailed to k.madison@townofrocklandny.com.
