NARROWSBURG - Artist and local sculptor Naomi Teppich has joined local writer Cass Collins, known as the River Muse for her long-running column in the River Reporter newspaper, to present a public art garden in the Flats in Narrowsburg. Using the writer’s family property on Second Avenue, the sculptor has installed her work, Cactus Cocoon, a large outdoor sculpture, 10’h x 7’l x 5’w, made of steel, colored cement and ornamental paint.

The work is a commentary on global warming, that was conceived for and first shown at Catskill Art Society in 2012, indoors. Later it was shown at Collaborative Concepts group outdoor sculpture show in Garrison, NY. It was also shown at the North Bennington Outdoor Sculpture Show, North Bennington, NY and after that at Beacon, NY in 2017 with beacon3d.org. The sculpture will be on view as a loan through May 1, 2024. Guests are welcome from 10-6 daily.

A Garden Art party is planned for Monday, September 5 from 3-6 pm to inaugurate the Art Garden at 52 Second Avenue in Narrowsburg. Food and drinks will be served.

Collins plans to offer the one-acre lot next to her home for juried sculpture displays. For information, contact ArtGarden at cassvcollins@gmail.com. Use ArtGarden as the subject line.
