Carl A. DeSantis of Obernburg a retired Route Truck Driver for Gasko & Meyer Distributors and a 50 year area resident, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020. He was 79. Carl was the beloved husband of Bernadette Greier DeSantis and the son of the late Madeline DePalmer DeSantis and Frederick DeSantis. Carl was born December 26, 1940 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Carl was a retired Teamster for Local 455, a member of Sullivan County Shields-Liberty, N.Y., a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, and a past member of the North Branch Fire Department.

Carl is survived by his wife Bernadette Greier DeSantis, by his daughter Lisa DeSantis, by his sister Olga DiBartolo (Frank) by his sister-in-law Joan DeSantis, sister-in-law Suzanne Krofecheck (Terrance) brother-in-law James Greier (Rita), brother-in-law Paul Greier (Patricia) and by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents Carl was predeceased by his brother Frederick DeSantis.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 28, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, County Road 95, Obernburg, New York. Internment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
