Carol L. Theis of Cochecton, NY, a retired Horticulturist, and a lifelong area resident died Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Achieve Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Liberty, NY. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys Cochran Theis, she was born November 16, 1945 in the Town of Bethel, New York.

Carol had been employed by Reinshagen’s Greenhouse in Bethel, NY. She loved to volunteer for the Sullivan County ASPCA. She enjoyed knitting hats and gloves to donate to the Callicoon Youth Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Morgen Hall and her companion Patrick Coney of Livingston Manor, NY; three sisters Beverly Coots and her husband Charlie of Bethel, NY, Susan McFadden of Cochecton, NY, and Marylou Gruber and her husband Stephen of Monticello, NY; her brother Bradford Theis of Bethel, NY; her grandson Jaxson Schmitz; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial was held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10 AM in the Evergreen Cemetery, Route 17B, Bethel, NY.
