Casimira “Kay” Winski of Hillsborough, NJ, former co-owner of the Valley View House in Kenoza Lake, New York and a longtime Sullivan County resident, more recently a resident of Hillsborough New Jersey where she lived with her daughter Pamela Borek, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of the late Wilhelmina and Joseph Bekarciak of Kenoza Lake, NY, she was born February 5, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY.
Kay was a very active Hillsborough senior, she belonged to Chapter B of Hillsborough Township Senior Citizen group, Mary, Mother of God Prayer Shawl Ministry, Hillsborough Township Rockettes and Rocket and Hillsborough Township Crochet and Knitting Group. She was a parishioner at Mary, Mother of God Church. During her time in Hillsborough, she became friends with many residents and was often seen at her daughter’s office at the municipal building.
Kay enjoyed socializing with her friends, crocheting, sewing, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing 500 rummy but most of all spending time with her family.
In a family statement, it was said, “She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived life to the fullest and anyone who knew her will never forget her.” Kay had a kind heart, anyone that met her became a friend. Her caretakers at Bridgeway loved her and many stopped by to visit with her during her stay.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis V. Winski, Sr. She is survived by their three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Tegnander (Richard) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Alicia Skelly (Edward) of Poulsbo, Wash., and Pamela Borek of Hillsborough, N.J; two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis V. Winski, Jr (Kathy) of Monroe, NY and Joseph Winski (Mary) of Youngsville, NY; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Hillsborough Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Mary, Mother of God Church in Hillsborough. Cremation will be private.
