MONTICELLO – Local eatery Colosseo Family Restaurant will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in mid-May.

America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on May 21.  Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners and siblings Angelo and Giavanni Cracchiolo and Cathy Vandermark about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.

Colosseo Family Restaurant first opened under the direction of Rosario and Rosalia Cracchiolo, parents of Angelo, Giavanni and Cathy.  A former tile store, the restaurant was nominated to be on an episode of the Roadshow by Shannon Taylor, who wrote “They are also a fantastic Italian restaurant making many dishes from scratch. The atmosphere and staff are wonderful too.” 

The restaurant has fed several celebrities over the years, including Al Roker, Alec Baldwin, and headliner musicians playing at a nearby festival last year, Carlos Santana and Luke Bryan.

Colosseo Family Restaurant uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to offer a varied menu of Italian specialties, such as pizzas, pastas, cheesesteaks and hero sandwiches, appetizers, calzones and strombolis, soups and salads, wings, entrees and desserts. Popular choices include the chicken Francese, baked ziti, and the Sicilian-style pizza. 

America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Wednesday May 21 from 9am-12pm EST. The press is invited to attend. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website. 

Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence, and level of involvement with their community.
