DAMASCUS, PA — To celebrate the last hot month of the summer season, there will be local ice cream topping the pancakes served at the Damascus Manor Community Center (DMCC) breakfast on Saturday, August 10 from 8 AM to noon at its facility at 60 Conklin Hill Road, Damascus, PA 18415.

A scoop of locally made Wahoo vanilla ice cream will be offered along with the rest of the very local fare prepared by the volunteers of DMCC.

Breakfast will include classic and buckwheat pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, and applesauce. Eggs are from Tom Candela’s coops. Syrup is provided by Jeff & Linda Dexter, members of NEPA Maple Syrup Producers. Of course, there will be coffee and juice.

Wayne County has a long tradition of dairy farming in a state that has the second highest number of dairy farm families in the country. Wahoo ice cream is made in Damascus Township and is served forth from its store at 169 Galilee Road, Tyler Hill, PA 18469.

People from near and far are welcome for country breakfast, camaraderie and conversation with neighbors and new friends for $12/adults, $7/children 12 and under. (Cash only please.)

Proceeds from these breakfasts fund worthy causes in the community, including local first responders. Recycling will take place from 9-noon in the parking lot.

Families with children should remember to enjoy the wonderful new playground on the township grounds. Guests are welcome to dine indoors in the center or outside in its picnic and events shed right by the playground. Damascus Manor Community Center is available for rent for events and activities. Anyone interested in using  the center or volunteering with DMCC should visit its website and  call 570-729-7270. Follow the DMCC on Facebook.

Damascus Manor Community Center serves the ongoing needs of the community and is committed to bringing neighbors together to connect with the best of what life has to offer in Damascus Township.
