Daniel “Danny” Yewchuck, age 73, of Cochecton Center, NY passed on Monday, December 7, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

The son of the late Walter and Rita (Faubel) Yewchuck, he was born on August 27, 1947 in Jeffersonville, NY. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Danny was a US Navy Veteran, serving during Vietnam. He served on the USS Simon Lake, as a submarine tender, a boat serving mate and a crane operator in Holy Loch, Scotland. Danny retired from Narrowsburg Lumber Company, Narrowsburg, NY. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Jeffersonville, NY. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Danny was married for 52 years to Carol A. (Drollinger) Yewchuck, who survives him. A family statement reads: “Danny was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the woods of Sullivan County. He enjoyed cutting wood and making trails with his friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a master reloader of ammunition. Last year he shot his last buck, he looked forward to this year, but it was not to be. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will greatly be missed.”

He is survived by his wife, Carol, two sons: Steven Yewchuck and his wife Nikole, of Beacon, NY, David Yewchuck and his wife Denise of Narrowsburg, NY, grandchildren: Piper, Calvin, Anya, Bailey and Allison. Sister: Marion Abplanalp and her husband Bill of White Sulphur Springs, NY. Two nieces: Jeannie and Darlene.

Danny is predeceased by his son: Brian D. Yewchuck, who had passed away in 2016.

A private burial will be held at Laurel Cemetery in Cochecton Center, NY.
