What in the world are we doing?

George Washington spent many years of his life fighting for freedom for our young country, strongly resisting third presidential terms, types of leaders and governments that had previously ruled the world.

After the Constitutional Convention concluded long hours developing our Constitution, Benjamin Franklin was asked, “What do we have here?” He responded something like, “I don’t know, but we’ll see if we can hold on to it,” - and we did for 245 years or so.

Are we going to be the generation to lose it?

Are our children, grandchildren, and after not going to live as we have, or as few people ever have?

Is that what we’re going to leave them?

Granted, our country is not perfect, but most people and nations of the world, for centuries, admired that we peacefully settled our differences by voting.

But now, in the last 5-6 years, we have stopped debating, doing what is best for our country, honoring oaths, valuing truth, and trusting our own eyes, ears, intelligence, and common sense.

He spent billions of dollars to elect our leader(s) and almost immediately it is being changed, “They stole our elections,” there’s pressure to “find” the votes needed to reverse the election, our Capital Building and Congress are attacked and people are killed - on live T.V. - as they were attempting to complete the democratic process of the election. Previously election results were accepted and the defeated party would work toward winning the next term.

What happened? What was different?

Why are we paying so many people to be in Washington D.C. to represent us when one senator and one “wannabe” tells them all how to vote, and they do?

Fellow Americans, are you, our children, our country being represented? Are we leaving them what our forefathers and our armed forces sacrificed for us to have?

What in the world are we doing?

    Well said.

As Lincoln said : "A house divided against itself cannot stand".

We need to accept the demographic changes occurring in our Nation and move forward while working TOGETHER; the reality of life in the 21st century requires it. Russia and China are watching very closely as we tear our Republic apart and they will pounce if given the opportunity.

Bill, Russia and China have already taken advantage.

Russia, you may think it wasn't the gov't, attacked us twice recently through cyber attacks.

China has taken advantage, with our gov'ts help, that they make everything we buy.

Both countries have the chance now to take us as our generals and high military commanders, through recent wargames, found that our strategy for the last 20 to 30 years shows we lost and now they decide to change things.

Kay - what we need are term limits with throwing out the long-lived careers people first and replacing with new. They should hold office for no more than ten years and hen out. Another would be to take control of our borders again.

You say 5 to 6 years, it's been more like 20 or more and worrying about the future for our kids and grandkids was way back before i even thought of getting married.
