DELAWARE — The Town Board of the Town of Delaware unanimously voted to accept and adopt the 2022 budget for the town at their regular town meeting earlier this month.
Town Supervisor Stephan Lundgren told the Democrat that the budget for the Town of Delaware for the upcoming year is $1,732,593, with the tax percentage increasing 1.35 percent. The increase in taxes per $1,000 dollars assessed value is $0.085.
“Eighty percent of our budget items remained the same. The increases generally result from increases in the costs for health insurance, retirement, highway equipment (maintenance and purchase),” Lundgren told the Democrat. “We also negotiated a reasonable increase in the wage rates for our highway department employees, whose contract had expired at the end of 2017.”
