LIBERTY – This past Tuesday the Redhawks set out to take on the Livingston Manor/Roscoe Wildcats looking to continue their momentum. The Redhawks are fresh off a huge 28-point win over Tuxedo.

Liberty came out pressuring the ball right away to set the tone. They fed the ball inside to their big man Joseph DiBartolo to jump start an early 7-0 run before Manor was able to get on the clock after a downhill attack by Logan Park. That score would ignite the Wildcats giving them back-to-back looks at the basket.  Another attack on the rim by Ben Johnston was short lived as the Redhawks ended the quarter on another 5-0 run from DiBartolo getting huge putbacks off the offensive glass. With a deep shot from James Dworetsky connecting from downtown Liberty ended the first quarter up 14-4.

Manor was able to throw the first punch to start the second quarter coming out strong  and going on a 6-0 run. The Wildcats were able to get some easy buckets downhill from Kaleb Maldonado, Ben Johnston, and Anthony Hicks. Both clubs ended the half going basket for basket but Liberty still led by double digits going into the half.

Liberty was first to get on the board after the break with a layup down low. Both squads had trouble getting shots to drop for much of the quarter. The Redhawks survived the third quarter still holding an 11-point lead.

The Wildcats would strike first in the final quarter with great offensive plays  by Patrick Gorr who netted all six of his points in the fourth quarter. It was all Redhawks to end the game going on a 22-2 run. The Redhawks secured a commanding home win of 53-31 over the visiting Wildcats.

The Redhawks were led in scoring by Joseph DiBartolo with 16 points, Zack Alvord with 14, and James Dworetsky with 9.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by Tyler McCray with

8, Ben Johnston with 7, and Patrick Gorr with 6.

With this win the Redhawks advance to 4-6 on the season and the Wildcats drop to 2-5.
