Donna Jo Hauser Ihlefeldt, 65, of Jeffersonville, NY, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was born on July 14, 1959, in Liberty, NY, to the late Albert and Elva (Boyd) Hauser.

Donna graduated from Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School in 1977 and went on to study floriculture at SUNY Cobleskill, where she developed her lifelong passion for flowers. She married her beloved husband, the late Brent Wallace Ihlefeldt, in 1980, and together they built a loving family and home.

Donna is survived by her devoted children, Austin (Amy) Ihlefeldt of Jeffersonville, NY, and Elyssa (Scott) Olsen of North Branch, NY. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Olivia and Dylan Olsen, Alaena Ihlefeldt, and step-granddaughter Amelia Crisell. She is also survived by her brother, Dane (Tilly) Hauser of Nineveh, NY; her cherished niece Tiffany Hauser of Youngsville, NY; and her nephew Adam Hauser of Swan Lake, NY. Her aunts, Carla Hauser Hahn of Callicoon and Audrey McCullough of Kingston, NY, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will forever hold her memory close.

Donna was a talented floral designer whose career spanned many years, including her work at Monticello Greenhouses and her proud ownership of Petunia’s Posies, her floral shop in Jeffersonville. She also worked at Peck’s Market in Jeffersonville, where her warm smile and kind spirit were appreciated by all.

A dedicated member of her community, Donna was actively involved in the Callicoon Center Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was passionate about genealogy, often tracing her family history with enthusiasm and care. Donna also had a deep love for her dachshunds and her cherished 1969 Chevelle, which she took great pride in.

Donna’s warmth, creativity, and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She loved her family deeply and found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, family gatherings, and reminiscing about cherished memories over a cup of tea.
