SULLIVAN COUNTY — With the announcement of former State Police Senior Investigator Tim Dymond’s bid for Sullivan County Sheriff on the Republican line against incumbent of 19 years, Sheriff Michael Schiff, they will face off in Republican Primary Election set for June 24.
Leading up to that date, the Sullivan County Republican Committee is looking to interview the candidates, in addition to holding a convention in February.
According to Republican Committee Chairman Greg Goldstein, Dymond is planning to attend the convention, where the Committee will pick their endorsement.
On the other side of the aisle, the Sullivan County Democratic Committee has not yet conducted their endorsement process, which is also expected to take place next month.
Committee Chair Anne Hart told the Democrat that she had no comment regarding any potential Democratic nominees for the Sheriff’s Office.
