EPC to Host Overdose Awareness

MILFORD, PA – The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Milford (EPC) is partnering with the Pike County Drug and Alcohol Commission to hold an Overdose Awareness and free NARCAN® Giveaway on Saturday, August 6 from 11 am - 4 pm. The event which will be held on the front lawn of the church is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Many people have family members, friends, or know of someone that may be or have been affected by opioid addiction including overdose and in too many cases death. Opioid addiction is a worldwide problem, including here in the tri-state area, as indicated by the August 31st International Overdose Awareness Day.

NARCAN® is a life-saving non-addictive drug that reverses the effect of opioids such as heroin and fentanyl and is administered as a nasal spray. This helps prevent the individual from passing away from a potentially deadly overdose giving them another chance at life.

In addition to the free NARCAN® giveaway, other resources, and information for those seeking guidance and answers will be available. If you or a loved one has or is struggling with addiction, we would love to meet you and provide you with available resources and NARCAN® so we can help you or your loved one get to the next powerful stage of your life.

The church is located at 300 Broad Street in Milford for more information you can contact the church office at 570-296-4711.
