FALLSBURG – The Comets have had a handful of contests in the past week. Starting last Thursday with a 1-1 tie against Burke. Diego Bonilla scored for Fallsburg.

On October 7, Fallsburg beat Rondout Valley in double overtime, 2-1. Diego Bonilla scored in regulation, and Olvin Jimenez got the game winning goal in overtime.

Tuesday, Monticello and Fallsburg squared off in the final round of the Van Etten Tournament, and Fallsburg defeated the host 3-2 in overtime. Olvin Jimenez had two goals and Monticello scored an own goal in the Fallsburg win.

On Wednesday, Fallsburg and Chester tied 1-1 in double overtime. Olvin Jimenez scored via a Jose Aleman assist.

The Comets are now 8-2-2 on the year as it gets closer to the conclusion of the regular season.

Boys Soccer

Liberty and Chapel Field squared off in a non-league matchup on October 7and the Indians took the 2-0 win. Norlis Acosta and Dylan Nichols scored for Liberty and Liberty goalies only recorded two saves in the shutout victory.

Girls Soccer

Tri-Valley defeated Livingston Manor/Roscoe on Tuesday evening, 6-1. Brooke Delaney, Riley Kelly and Kendall McGregor each scored twice to keep Tri-Valley undefeated at 7-0-2. Athena Niforatos scored on a direct kick for the Lady Wildcats in the loss.

O’Neill defeated Liberty 4-0 on Wednesday night. Liberty’s keepers recorded six saves in the loss but were unable to score on offense.
