COCHECTON – Firecrews from multiple departments were dispatched to the scene at Cochecton Mills, Inc., on Monday, July 18 around noon when recently purchased material was heated and began smoldering within the building.
On the scene were Hortonville Fire Department, Lava Volunteer Fire Company, Lake Huntington Fire Company, and Callicoon Volunteer Fire Department, Liberty Fire Department, and the Monticello Fire Department.
Awaiting to assist were the White Lake Fire Company in Lake Huntington, Jeffersonville Fire Department in Hortonville, with the Narrowsburg Fire Company also on standby.
There were reportedly no injuries and minimal damage sustained at the scene, according to Cochecton Mills, Inc. co-owner Todd Nearing.
