During these turbulent times in which we live, there is much uncertainty. We never know what the next day will bring. Many live in fear, worry and anxiety, without hope. Their constant companion is a sense of foreboding, that fearful apprehension that something bad is about to happen.

But there is hope beyond what we see and hear around us. We can have certainty that God is with us and will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We don’t have to make it through this life on our own. In light of that, there are some things that I am fully persuaded of, promises that God has made to all of us.

I am fully persuaded that Jesus is the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, who lived a sinless life on earth, was crucified and took our sins upon Himself. He rose from the dead and is alive forever more, seated at the right hand of God where He continually intercedes for us. Our eternal hope is found in Him alone.

I am fully persuaded that God loves us with an everlasting, unconditional, unfailing love that He has lavished upon us, which will never be taken away. (See Jeremiah 31:3, Psalm 136:1 and 1 John 3:1, 4:16.) I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. (See Romans 8:37-39.)

I am fully persuaded that God is faithful and we can always count on Him, no matter the circumstances. He will not only meet our needs, He will do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask, think or even imagine. (See Ephesians 3:20.) I am confident that He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion to fulfill the plans and purposes He has for us. (See Philippians 1:6.)

I am fully persuaded that God will protect us and keep us safe through these uncertain days. We can pray along with the Psalmist, “Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge” (Psalm 61:1). “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). “His faithful promises are your armor and protection” (Psalm 91:4). (See also all of Psalm 91.)

I am fully persuaded that no matter how bad things get around us, God will provide all we need. (See Philippians 4:19.) But He will go far beyond just providing for our physical needs. He will give us the peace that passes all understanding to help us to keep our focus upon Him through the hard times. (See Philippians 4:6-7). He will fill us with the joy of the Lord, which is our strength. (See Nehemiah 8:10.)

I am fully persuaded that God has given us His Holy Spirit to lead, guide and teach us, to comfort and strengthen us. We are never alone, even in our loneliest times. The Holy Spirit is our counselor and advocate. He prays for us and through us when we don’t even know how or what we should pray. (See John 14:16-17, 26 and Romans 8:26-27.) When we’ve made Jesus our savior, the Holy Spirit lives within us and will never leave us.

God has given us many promises in His word that we can stand upon with confidence. We can believe that He will keep His word to us. I am fully persuaded that God has power to do what He has promised. (See Romans 4:21.)
