The Grahamsville Fair Grounds were bustling once again this past weekend with the return of the 144th Little World’s Fair – offering that familiar family fun that has attracted thousands to the area. Chock-full of rides, games and that classic carnival food, the recent rain couldn’t keep fair-goers away for too long.
It is a great thing to see the support of the fair’s host, The Neversink Agricultural Society, which holds the record for the longest running independent fair in all of New York State. With such a lifespan, the Little World’s Fair truly is a staple in Sullivan County life in the summer. Well done to the Society, their board of directors and all who had a hand in raising this year’s Fair. A huge shoutout should be given to the Fair’s many generous sponsors as well.
The combination of the hard work and support of all those involved in continuing the mission of putting on a memorable and worth-while Fair was apparent and abundant this year. Each day offered features all day long, with Friday and Saturday starting early in the morning and ending late into the evening. Attendees certainly were given the opportunity to make the most of this year’s festivities.
It was also great to see so many political leaders, social engagement leaders, first responders and many other prominent members of the region make an appearance at the Fair. It was truly the place to be this weekend, and their attendance offers a sight of the eternal heartbeat of our community. Even through rain and high waters, the community made it a point to make it to the Fair.
Fresh off the heels of this year’s excitement, we already can’t wait for next year’s installment of the Little World’s Fair, and trust in the hands of the Neversink Agricultural Society to bring back the fun as they have for so many years previous! See you all then!
