George Henry “Zeke” LaBar, the youngest son of the late Milton J. and Minnie LaBar, passed away quietly at his home during the early hours of July 28, 2024. His wife, Ina LaBar and stepdaughter, Marisela Frost were by his side.
Survivors include his wife, Ina, stepdaughter, Marisela both at home in Scranton, 2 children, Michele LaBar and Cass LaBar, brothers and sisters Eugene LaBar and wife Doris of Wyalusing, PA, Louis LaBar and wife Jane of Honesdale, PA, James LaBar and wife Donna of Waymart, PA, David LaBar and wife Cindy of Mountainhome, Idaho, Alice Scott of Damascus, PA, Jenett Abbott and husband Bob of Honesdale, PA, Mary LaBar from Rhode Island and Ann Russek and husband Karl from Pottstown, PA.
George was preceded in death by his brother, Milton H. LaBar and his nephew, Harold N. Scott.
George, better known as Zeke by his friends and buddies, grew up and attended school in Honesdale, PA. He attended Wayne Highlands and was well known for his comedy and performances in school drama. His raspy, infectious laugh will not be forgotten.
George could build you a computer or be DJ at your wedding. He also wrote sports news for local sports events in the Almanac. He tried his hand at many different trades, but loved his music and radio announcing the most.
Per George’s request a small family gathering in Memory of George was held on August 11, 2024 at his home in Scranton. Dignified cremation was performed by Hickory Crematory located in Scranton and funeral facility, Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, PA arranged disposition.
