George J. Hardik of Liberty, NY, a retired science teacher for the Fallsburg Central School District and a longtime area resident, died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Garnet Health Hospital in Harris, NY.  He was 94.

The son of the late George J. and Anna Fedorchak Hardik, he was born November 26, 1928 in Pottsville, PA.

George served our country as an MP in the US Army during the Korean War.  Upon his discharge he attended Kutztown University graduating in 1959 and received his Master’s Degree from Columbia University Teachers College in 1967.  He taught Science at Fallsburg Central School District for 25 years retiring in 1984. He never stopped learning and enjoyed music and listening to science lectures on the computer.  His hobbies were painting, woodworking, and traveling in his motorhome with his family.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Glenda Johnson Hardik at home; two daughters, Karen Hardik of Albany, NY and Kathy Beaulieu and her husband Richard of Suffolk, VA, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 10 to 11 AM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 10 AM in the funeral home.  Father Robert Poupora will officiate.

George will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
