Wurtsboro - Come and visit the Mamakating Library on Friday, October 29, at 5:30 p.m. for an hour of fun and history in the form of live readers’ theater just right for Halloween.
Two short pieces directed by local playwright Gary Holmes will be performed outdoors at dusk, weather permitting. Join local actors Brent Lyons, Jean Eifert and Walter Jahn as they perform “The Bashakill Spectre,” a new piece by Gary Holmes based on the ‘lost legend’ of the spirit who was awakened by the building of the D & H Canal and “Hans Swartz,” adapted from a short story set in Wurtsboro by Washington Irving.
Dress warmly for an outdoor performance. In case of rain the show will be moved indoors and masks will be required.
Register at mamakatinglibrary.org or call (845) 888-8004. The Mamakating Library is located at 128 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro.
